Breakthrough Writing
Over this past summer, I did a good amount of writing. In fact, I previously blogged about a couple of extended getaways when I wrote several chapters in book two of the Kammer Family Trilogy. After all that writing, several weeks went by where I did not write at all. During this time, I found myself experiencing a bit of brain overload for various other reasons.
I have a distinctive difference between my intellectual side and my creative side. The “breakthrough” for me in writing happens when I can literally break away from reality and “Just Write!” I think I might adopt that as my writing coach mantra – “Just Write!”
Then, about a week before Thanksgiving I suddenly had the head space I needed for creativity. I felt the tug within me pulling me to do some writing and I experienced the breakthrough writing I needed. While I did not write a lot, I wrote some important pieces of book two. It was invigorating! For an author, there is little that compares to the feeling of breakthrough writing!
