Creativity

As a Writing Coach I love hearing about other writers’ experiences. Writers are very creative people. When I think about creative writing, I tend to think of my style which is creating characters and making up stories about the same characters. Using my creativity to piece the story together. I enjoy working with my creativity. I remember when my younger son was very small, he would tell his dad all about his day and how he “worked on my imagination” – we would giggle a little, but we always knew he was serious. He loved making things up in his imagination. Now he is a singer, songwriter, continuing to use that imagination, or creativity.

Coaching helps bring out creativity when things, or life, gets in the way. As humans we may, at times, tend to think too much. Creativity can get lost in all that thinking.

I shared a post in August about getting outside of my own space and how that helped me stop thinking and let creativity take over. I enjoyed a few days off my day job one week in July. I visited different coffee shops and breweries to spend time focusing on writing book 2 of the Kammer Family trilogy (after book 1, Into the Canyon). It was refreshing and helped release a lot of creativity in me. I’m ready to do it again!

What does it feel like when creativity takes over? It’s a release like no other. Even now, as I write this blog, I have a sense of freedom that nothing else really gives me. No one else can tell me how to process, or produce, my own creativity. I am the only one who impacts how I get there. It’s a great feeling.

I would love to hear how creativity comes about for anyone willing to share! This can be through a conversation, email, private message on social media, or even a free coaching session. I always offer the first session for free. It’s that free “Taste of Coaching” as I like to call it. I’m ready to connect!
